When Luis Daniel Wilson Leon moved to Vero Beach from Puerto Rico and started working at a shoe store he knew very little English. He had been soft spoken and private but blossomed with time into a store manager who stood up for his friend. He continued going to church and never retaliated with hate when confronted about his sexuality. He and his partner Jean Carlos Mendez Perez were both killed at the Pulse shootings.
